Chamber of Commerce members took some time to smell the roses Wednesday evening, and get in some networking.
The chamber, along with the Springfield Patriot Chamber of Commerce, hosted a networking event at Williams Nursery designed to bring local business leaders together in a casual after work environment. The group took time to discuss local business, along with plan for future events.
The event is part of the chamber's new series of morning, noon and night networking events. According to Neil Pinkman, the chamber's executive director, the events will give chamber members a chance to participate in networking programs over breakfast, lunch and dinner. In February, the chamber hosted the Big Event in Fanwood, and there have been a variety of breakfast and lunch events over the past few months.
During the Wednesday evening event, Downtown Westfield Corporation Executive Director Shelly Cronin briefed business leaders about plans for the second annual Westfield in Bloom competition. The annual beautification program, part of the America in Bloom contest, will feature AIB judges coming to town in the middle of July.
