Business Leaders Gather for Chamber Breakfast

Non-profit hosts morning networking event.

Several dozen local business leaders gathered over eggs and bagels this morning to discuss ways to work together.

The Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce's breakfast networking event is part of the chamber's new "Networking Morning, Noon and Night" initiative. Designed to hold networking themed programs at various hours of the day and night, chamber executive director Neil Pinkman, said the new initiative will include breakfast meetings, evening cocktail hours and lunchtime educational programs.

Thursday morning's event included a discussion on the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of New Jersey. Held at the society's Cranford headquarters, the group presented to chamber members on the fundraising programs and ways local businesses can get involved in the work of the non-profit.

Pinkman said the chamber is planning a second large scale evening networking event on May 12 at Williams Nursery on Springfield Avenue. Working with business groups from Springfield, Scotch Plains and Fanwood, the May 12 event will center on networking. This follows the chamber's "Big Event" earlier this year in Fanwood which brought together several hundred networkers.
