Brown Avenue Burglary Suspects Arrested Following Foot Chase
Two men from Elizabeth were arrested Friday afternoon in Westfield.
Yeudi Alvarez Hernandez, 22, and Lefty Rodriguez, 23, both of Elizabeth, were arrested and charged in connection with a home burglary on the 900 block of Brown Avenue in Westfield on Friday, Jan. 11, according to the Westfield Police Department.
A neighbor reported two suspicious males in the area and responding police officers located the suspects inside the residence. They attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended following a brief foot chase.
Hernandez and Rodriguez were transported to the Westfield Police Department, where they were charged with burglary to a residence, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and obstructing administration of law. They were processed and committed to Union County Jail with bail set at $20,000.

What if the neighbor were at Trader Joe's? The PD would not have been called until afterwards to take the report.
What if someone was home? Would that be called a home invasion?
What would you do if you were home when they came in?
Could your family adequately defend itself, can you defend yourself against these two young men?
If you felt your life was threatened and defend yourself, and the "perps" got hurt, possibly fatally, would you get in trouble and go to jail?

O will try but fail, however the NJ legislature is hard at work and have submitted more anti-gun, anti-constitution, bills, which if passed create laws that make lawful citizens criminals without doing a thing.

Of course, none of the above proposed legislation will affect lawbreakers. Gun control has not worked because criminals, by definition, do not obey the law and will have zero impact on public safety or violent crime and will not solve New Jersey’s crime problem!
Contact your state legislators to reject these as these will actually make you and your children less safe.

.....and your point is?.......Armed or not....if someone is inside of your home with ill intent.....I would shoot their kneecaps off and then ask questions later, and I believe that I would be in my legal rights......or would you prefer that we "ask" the perps if they are armed?......

Good heads up by the neighbor, way to track him down WPD! What responsible parent names their child Lefty? So many of our issues originate with poor parenting, perfect example right on Patch.
