Wednesday is the start of the school year in the Westfield public schools, with local students attending private schools going back other days this week. Over the last week, Westfield Patch talked to students and parents from around Westfield to hear their thoughts on the start of the 2009-2010 school year.

"Not really. My summer feels really short. They gave us assignments over the summer and working on that is not a summer vacation. I want a week long snow day, sitting on my couch. That would make me happy." - Patrick Conlon
