Westfield resident Susan Salmond, EdD, RN, CNE, CTN, has been appointed dean of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) - School of Nursing. She was chosen after the university conducted a nationwide search to fill the post.
Dr. Salmond was the nursing school's interim dean since 2007 and has worked as an administrator at UMDNJ since 2005. Prior to joining UMDNJ's staff, she was a professor at Kean University. She is an active member of several nursing professional associations, including the New Jersey State Nurses Association, which gave her the C.A.R.E. Award for Excellence in Education.
