Homefirst Awarded Housing Grant Funds from Northfield Bank Foundation
Northfield Bank Foundation’s Executive Director, Diane Senerchia, presented Homefirst with a $25,000 grant award to help fund the operational and maintenance costs of six affordable housing units, and provide ongoing family support services including financial literacy, employment readiness and health and well-being programming to families living in Homefirst’s Westfield homes.
“The Foundation is happy to support Homefirst in its success efforts to solve the problem of homelessness by providing stable and secure housing throughout many communities in Central New Jersey”, said Diane Senerchia, Executive Directors, Northfield Bank Foundation.
All affordable housing program clients pay one-third of their income towards their home. Through a revenue mix of government and private grants, and individual gifts Homefirst pays all utilities, maintenance and other associated costs of living. Homefirst’s Family Support & Prevention team connects with families and their children to provide as a connector to community-based resources, as well as provide personal assistance when and where they are needed.

*** The Northfield Bank Foundation was founded to support not-for-profit groups, institutions, schools or other organizations operating in the communities in which Northfield Bank does business. The Foundation focuses its efforts on projects to support education, health and human services, youth programs that improve the quality of life around us and to date the Foundation has given $2,400,000 to local organizations.
