Brendan's Meadows Rescue Provides Life Saving Oxygen Kits
Brendan's Meadows Rescue, a young, local, dog rescue organization, is pleased to announce the donation of pet oxygen rescue kits to the Westfield and Mountainside Fire Departments. With memorial donations earmarked for the program from the Christoffers family of Mountainside, in honor of long time resident Ruth Christoffers, and the Zarro family, in honor of their dog, Zena, Brendan's Meadows proudly introduced the program to Chiefs Dan Kelly of Westfield and Pete Esemplare of Mountainside. Amy Jester, Vice President of Brendan's Meadows, said "the chiefs were contacted and enthusiastically embraced implementation of the pet rescue program, including the addition of pet oxygen kits to their respective departments. Brendan's Meadows is proud to be able to reach beyond the traditional concept of a dog rescue organization by contributing to the well being of not only homeless pets, but all pets in the community; it's our way of saying thank you for the community's support." Each town has been supplied with enough oxygen kits to equip each of their engines.
Pet oxygen masks are designed specifically to fit the muzzles and snouts of dogs, cats and other household pets. This life saving equipment offers a continuous flow of healthy oxygen, helping pets to breathe better in cases of emergencies such as home fires.
Although she hopes there will never be a need, Ms. Jester says that Brendan's Meadows is happy to provide life saving equipment for the pets of Westfield, Mountainside and the surrounding communities that will benefit by shared fire department resources.
